About this spot
Exit at 136 on Interstate 64 in Louisa County, Virginia. Head toward US 250 East following directional signage from the highway. Take the initial left turn onto Poindexter Road beyond the lumber yard on your right side. Drive 3-4 miles and turn right onto Rock Quarry Road. Continue for half a mile until you spot an old rusted fence with no parking signage on the left. Leave your vehicle on the right side of the road. Climb over the fence and the rock formations behind it, then follow the leftward trail. The quarry and lake come into view ahead. Multiple jumping spots exist in this area, with the most popular location situated a short distance down the road from where you initially spot the water.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
