About this spot

From Northern Virginia, take I-66W to I-81S, then exit at 225 onto Route 275W. Travel 5 miles before turning right onto Route 250 for another 15 miles. Make a sharp right turn onto Braley Pond Road, which deteriorates into a rough dirt and gravel surface after several miles. At the T-intersection, turn right toward Elkhorn Lake and continue straight until reaching the road's end. To access the jumping area, proceed toward the dam and veer left where you'll find an old staircase. Ascend the stairs until you reach the dam's level. A leftward trail from there leads directly to the rocks. The cliff formations vary between approximately 30 and 45 feet in height. A no swimming sign is posted at the location, so be aware of this restriction when visiting.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
