About this spot
From Portland, travel east on I-84 for approximately 41 miles until reaching exit 44 near Cascade Locks. Get onto Cascade Locks Highway/US Highway 30/Wa Na Pa Street, then take your first right turn toward the Bridge of the Gods using the Pacific Crest Trail. Cross the Columbia River via the Bridge of the Gods (a toll crossing) into Washington state. Turn right onto Washington Highway 14/Evergreen Highway and continue for 14.7 miles. Make a left onto Cook-Underwood Road and drive 2.0 miles to milepost 2, where a gravel pull-out on the right provides parking. The unmarked trailhead begins approximately 10 yards south of milepost 2. The path descends through a talus slope leading down to the Little White Salmon River and Spirit Falls.
