About this spot

Head north from Yakima on I-82 toward Ellensburg and take exit 26. Turn left at the top of the ramp and set your odometer to zero. Follow State Route 821 for 15.5 miles until you spot a small parking area on your right side. Cross the road to locate the cliff. This site is nicknamed Pac Man, named after a large painted face that once adorned the rock formation. The original artwork depicted a smiling face visible from the river, though it was later modified to resemble the video game character.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
