Start in Bellingham from E Magnolia St and Lakeway Dr, heading south on I-5 for about 1 mile (5 minutes). Continue south on I-5, then merge onto WA-20 west toward Anacortes, traveling 37.1 miles over 38 minutes to reach Commercial Ave. From there, take 32nd St, D Ave, and WA-20 Spur west to the ferry terminal, a 5.1-mile journey taking approximately 12 minutes. Board the Anacortes–Orcas Island ferry toward Eastsound; this toll crossing spans 14.9 miles and requires about 1 hour 18 minutes. Upon arrival on Orcas Island, follow Orcas Rd and Olga Rd to Rosario Rd over 12.7 miles (25 minutes). The destination is Cascade Lake.
