About this spot
Located within the Mazatzal Wilderness, this remote Verde River section is accessible primarily by water. To reach it, travel east from Camp Verde, Arizona for approximately ten miles until you find the Forest Service Road leading to the Childs Powerplant. Launch your inflatable canoe at Childs and paddle downstream roughly 25 miles to arrive at this location. Ground access is essentially unavailable; river travel is the only practical means of reaching this area.
