About this spot
Seven Falls is a series of cascading pools at the end of the Bear Canyon Trail in the Santa Catalina foothills above Sabino Canyon, Tucson. The roughly 8-mile round-trip hike crosses the creek multiple times before climbing to the falls, where hikers regularly swim and cliff jump into the plunge pools, especially after monsoon rains from July through September; the falls can run dry other times of year. Jump heights vary by ledge and water level, and submerged rocks are a real hazard, so check depth before jumping. Sabino Canyon parking charges a day-use fee, and a $4 tram can shortcut the first two miles. No jumping ban is in place, but the area is unsupervised and flash-flood risk is real in monsoon season.
