About this spot

Mt Magazine Cascade is a 100-plus-foot multi-tier cascade in Mount Magazine State Park, reached via a half-mile trail from the Brown Springs Picnic Area (distinct from the shorter, 28-foot Mt. Magazine Falls near Cameron Bluff). It's a well-visited, well-documented feature, but park materials explicitly warn the rock is slippery and dangerous — this reads as a scenic-viewing cascade rather than an established jumping spot. No fees within the state park. Treat any pool at the base as unverified for depth and jumping safety.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
