About this spot

Potem Falls drops about 70 feet into a pool on Potem Creek near Round Mountain, reached by a quarter-mile trail off Fenders Ferry Road (paved then dirt) between Round Mountain and Montgomery Creek; access and parking are free with no permit required. Rope swings sit to one side of the pool, and the spot has a reputation among cliff-jumping regulars, including video-documented stunts from experienced local jumpers. The hazard that matters: water levels and submerged rocks shift with seasonal flow, and cliff-jumping accidents have been reported here, so this isn't a beginner jump — check depth and current before leaping, especially outside peak summer flow.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
