About this spot

Exit 11 off Route 9 and head west on 155. Turn left at Millbrook Road, then bear left onto Foothills Road. The parking area sits on your right. From there, enter the state park and hike the trail. Within a couple minutes, you'll reach an opening with the lake visible to your right and a grassy rise on your left—the cliffs are faintly visible across the water at this point. Continue hiking for approximately five minutes until the path splits; a white arrow on a tree marks the left turn. Follow the trail for another 5–10 minutes until you emerge at a wide clearing that overlooks the lake. Three jump options are available here: a 10-foot platform, a 20-foot platform, and a 25-foot ledge positioned about 10 feet back from the water's edge. The 25-foot jump requires a substantial running start to clear both the inland ledge and surrounding vegetation. While swimming is permitted in the lake, park staff may object to cliff jumping, though visitors report no enforcement issues during their visits.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
