About this spot

Leave I-95 at exit 75 near Niantic and head north on Route 1. Continue for roughly half a mile before turning right onto Calkins Road—drive carefully as the turn is easy to miss due to surrounding brick walls. Drive to the end of Calkins Road where a woodland path begins. You can either walk from the roadside or take a four-wheel-drive vehicle along the trail. The path opens into a circular clearing with beach access. Locate the smaller trail branching right and walk along the river for approximately five minutes to reach Indian Rock. The spot attracts spectators from passing boats on the river. Exercise caution as water depth fluctuates with tidal changes.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
