About this spot
From Hartford, travel west on I-84 and exit onto Queen Street. When you encounter the oak hill cemetery with its distinctive stone walls and pillars, turn onto Flanders Street. Continue past Southington High School and through one stop sign. At the second stop sign, turn left following Rogers Orchards signage. At the three-way intersection ahead, turn right while still following the orchard signs. At the next three-way intersection, turn right away from the orchard signs. Continue to the following three-way intersection and bear right. You'll pass a reservoir on your left, then a large grass hill. Park on Reservoir Ridge Road, the next right turn after this field. Cross the street and walk along the grass path into the woods. Climb the first major hill and look for blue tree and rock markings. Step over a large rotting log parallel to the path. Follow the blue markings to rock stairs, ascend them, then continue forward and slightly left. The blue trail features clear arrows and dots. Approximately 15 minutes past the rock stairs lies the first cliff known as RT, where a fatality previously occurred—this jump involves clearing trees and obstacles and is not recommended. The water depth is substantial throughout this area. Additional cliffs appear along the trail, including low options and drops of 18, 21, 25, and 30 feet, with some variations between. Beyond the gravel road and bridge, turn left into the woods where shorter cliffs suitable for flips exist alongside a 50-foot drop.
