About this spot

From Hartford, take I-84 west and turn onto Queen Street. When you spot oak hill cemetery with its distinctive stone walls and pillars, turn onto that road (Flanders Street). Continue past Southington High School and a stop sign. At the second stop sign, turn left following the Rogers Orchards sign. At the next three-way intersection, turn right while still following the Rogers Orchards sign. Continue to the following three-way intersection and turn right again, now heading away from the Rogers Orchards sign. At the next three-way intersection, stay to the right. You'll eventually see a reservoir on your left, followed by a large open grass hill. Park on Reservoir Ridge Road, the next right turn after this field. Cross the street and walk along the grass path into the woods. Climb the first major hill and look for blue trail markings on trees and rocks. Avoid going right where a small log crosses the path initially. If you're on the correct route, you'll step over a large decomposed log running parallel to the trail. Follow the blue markings consistently—they feature arrows and dots. After approximately 15 minutes from the rock stairs, you'll reach the first cliff, known as RT, named after a fatality that occurred there. This jump involves clearing trees and obstacles, making it hazardous. The water is quite deep. Continuing further leads to lower cliffs. Multiple jumps exist in this area: 18, 21, 25, and 30 feet, plus others between and some taller options nearby. After jumping, follow the gravel road, cross the bridge at the end, and turn left into the woods for additional cliffs—shorter ones suitable for flips and a 50-foot jump adjacent to them.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
