About this spot
A pair of islands positioned roughly a quarter mile offshore from Kailua, accessible primarily by kayak from either Kailua or Lanikai beaches. Paddle to the larger of the two islands (the leftmost one), secure your vessel on the beach, and traverse around the island's perimeter to reach the backside cliffs. Wear footwear suitable for walking on sharp rock terrain. Multiple jumping locations exist on these cliffs, though reaching them requires ascending jagged rock formations—the ascent itself presents more difficulty and risk than the actual jumps. Monitor wave conditions carefully before attempting any jumps, as water movement in this area can be unpredictable.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
