About this spot

Two-tier, roughly 54-ft waterfall on Elk Spring Creek in the Lake Cumberland Wildlife Management Area (US Army Corps of Engineers land) just outside Monticello. A short, moderately steep ~1-mile round-trip trail from near the town's antique district leads down layered limestone to the falls; a rougher route continues about two miles downstream to Jock Falls. The site sits inside a managed wildlife area, so seasonal hunting closures and WMA access rules may apply. No documented cliff-jumping or swimming-hole culture was found in trip reports or guides; treat this as a scenic-hike destination rather than a confirmed swim spot.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
