About this spot
In Mankato, Minnesota, head north on Riverfront Drive past the Madison Avenue intersection. Turn left onto 3rd Avenue and continue several miles until you spot both a rock quarry and cemetery on your left side. Take the dirt road entrance just before the cemetery. Inside, you'll find the Southern Minnesota Construction Rock Quarry featuring water between 10 and 15 feet deep—suitable for jumping but not diving. Multiple jump locations exist throughout the site. One established spot lies near the road access with minimal walking distance to reach the cliff edge, marked by a large boulder nearby from which jumpers can launch.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
