About this spot

This former rock mining operation near Farmington in Mine La Motte, Missouri, known as The Offsets, was converted into a recreational swimming and jumping destination after miners struck an underground spring that filled the excavated quarry. The water maintains consistent depth year-round at approximately 50 degrees, making it impossible to reach the bottom, which eliminates hazards associated with shallow water contact. Scuba diving is permitted during off-season periods. Entry costs $10, with tube rentals available for $2 upon presentation of a driver's license as collateral. Prohibited items include glass bottles, beer bongs, kegs, and fireworks. Multiple jumping points range from 10 feet up to approximately 60 feet in height. From St. Louis: Follow I-55 South to US-67 South, continuing until Farmington. Take the left exit onto Route 32 East through town. Beyond Farmington, Route 32 becomes Route 00 (double zero); continue straight on this road for 13 miles. The facility appears on the left side with a large directional sign. From Kansas City: Travel I-70 East to US-40 East, then I-270 South. Continue on I-270 to I-55 South, then US-67 South. Exit left onto Route 32 East and proceed through Farmington. Follow Route 00 (formerly Route 32) for 13 miles past town to reach the location on the left.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
