About this spot

Situated in West Milford, New Jersey 07480 in the Awosting section off East Shore Road. A quarter-mile hike from the parking area at the base of East Shore Road where it intersects Awosting Road. Park in the dirt and gravel lot designated for hikers. Cross Awosting Road safely, then hop the guardrail on the right side of East Shore Road to access the trailhead. The path is roughly three people in width and straightforward to locate. Descend a modest slope until reaching a stream, where the trail splits—bear left and follow the stream as the most direct route. You'll encounter historic mill structures along the way; respect these landmarks by avoiding littering or damage. Pass the first mill on its right side, then continue left around the second mill and ascend a small rise. From this point, you're approximately 200 feet from the falls. Keep the stream on your right as you proceed straight; the sound of cascading water signals arrival. A designated area exists atop the jump site for storing belongings. Maintain safety practices, pack out all trash, and treat the location with care.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
