About this spot
Take Route 80 to Exit 37, whether heading eastbound or westbound, then turn left onto Greenpond Road at the base of the exit ramp. Continue through two traffic lights (Sanders Road and the next one), then bear right onto Meridan Road for several miles. Turn left onto Lyonsville Road and follow it to its end, then turn left again onto Split Rock Road. You'll notice distinctive rock formations on your left before the pavement becomes unpaved. Continue to a parking area on the right side. The parking lot requires a 10-minute walk but avoids a $54 parking fine. If you have a paddle craft or motorless boat, head northwest across the water to reach the cliffs. Swimming from the parking area is possible but demanding and only suitable for strong swimmers familiar with the route. Without a boat, walk past the parking area across the bridge and take the trails on your right. The cliff formations are approximately 25 minutes away on the reservoir's west side. Follow the shoreline paths—you cannot miss them if you keep going. The reservoir welcomes public access. Wear closed-toe footwear as small glass fragments cover the ground, posing a serious hazard. Two jump locations exist: a 20-25 foot option on the left marked with arrows and a 35-foot option on the right also marked with arrows. The site is considered very safe for jumping.
