About this spot
Campbell Creek Falls is a real but very remote waterfall reached only by a difficult, unmarked bushwhack off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Waterrock Knob (milepost 451.2) in the Plott Balsams. Guides explicitly warn inexperienced hikers not to attempt the off-trail route, which drops steeply off Fork Ridge into the East Fork Campbell Creek drainage. No swimming or cliff-jumping culture is documented anywhere -- this is a serious backcountry scramble, not a casual swim spot. Exact falls coordinates are not independently confirmed beyond the general drainage area, so treat the pin as approximate.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
