About this spot
Popular roadside waterfall on US-276 in Pisgah National Forest near Brevard, NC — park right at the base, no hike needed. The ~60-foot main drop empties into a deep, clear pool framed by a blocky cliff. Swimming is legal but unsupervised (no lifeguards, unlike nearby Sliding Rock). USFS explicitly warns visitors not to climb, stand on, or jump from the falls, citing slick rocks and multiple injuries/deaths, mostly among climbers — the warning implies people do jump, but no independent trip reports document it as an established practice, so treat this as plausible, not confirmed.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
