About this spot
Banded Rock Falls is confirmed by hydrography/mapping data at this exact pin, in the same off-trail Tanasee Creek/Cavern Falls gorge system inside Nantahala National Forest near Wolf Mountain Road. Satellite imagery shows a visible stream drainage through unbroken canopy, consistent with a real but rarely visited drop. No trip reports or forum posts document swimming or jumping here; access would require an unmarked bushwhack over steep, wet rock.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
