About this spot

Lower Rockyface Falls is a small, confirmed drop on a Tanasee Creek tributary inside Nantahala National Forest, part of the same off-trail gorge cluster as Cavern Falls near Wolf Mountain Road/Tanasee Creek Road. It has no maintained trail, no trip reports, and no swimming or jumping accounts under this name — it appears only in hydrography/mapping data. Expect a genuine bushwhack through dense, wet, steep forest if attempting to reach it, with unstable footing near the drop.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
