About this spot

Found just outside Columbia, SC near the Riverbank Zoo area. Take the Riverbank Zoo exit off I-20 heading toward Columbia, then veer right. Cross the bridge over the interstate and make your second left turn. Enter the first left into the residential apartments. Drive halfway through the complex until you spot an opening between two buildings. Descend the wooden staircase to reach a pond. Turn right and follow the path to the cliff edge—a narrow ledge roughly 4 feet across. The drop measures 25 feet to water that reaches depths of at least 40 feet. After jumping, swimmers must navigate approximately 20 feet around the cliff base to find an exit point for climbing out.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
