About this spot

This site sits just beyond Columbia, SC near the Riverbank Zoo exit off I-20. Approaching from the interstate toward Columbia, take the Riverbank Zoo exit and veer right. Cross the bridge spanning the interstate and make a second left turn. Enter the first left into an apartment complex. Drive halfway through the residential area until you spot an opening between two buildings. Descend wooden steps to reach a pond, then turn right and follow the path to the cliff edge. The ledge itself measures roughly 4 feet in width, while the cliff face stands at 25 feet tall with a width of approximately 15 feet. The water below provides at least 40 feet of depth. After jumping, expect to swim about 20 feet around the base of the cliff to locate an exit point for climbing back out.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
