About this spot

Coker Creek Falls is part of a stepped chain of cascades in Cherokee National Forest's Coker Creek Scenic Area, reached via a moderate 5.1-mile round-trip trail off NFSR 2138, south of Coker Creek Village near Ducket Ridge Road. The system drops roughly 50 feet across at least five named steps -- Upper Coker Creek, Coker Creek, Hiding Place, and Lower Coker Creek Falls -- with no single ledge taller than about 10-12 feet, making this better suited to wading and shallow pool-hopping than big cliff leaps. Numerous swimming holes and flat rock sits line the trail and draw hikers all summer. Wet rock here is notoriously slick, and falls on similar Cherokee National Forest cascades are common, so check footing and current water levels before swimming, especially after rain.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly.
