About this spot

Sloping Falls is a ledge drop on the Lamoille River in Johnson, just upstream of Dog Head Falls. It is documented mainly as a paddling hazard — the Lamoille River Paddlers Trail built a portage route around it specifically because the falls are dangerous to run by boat — rather than as an established swimming or cliff-jumping spot. No guides, trip reports, or videos describing recreational jumping here were found; treat as an unproven swim spot and check current conditions before entering the water.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
