About this spot

Bingham Falls sits in Stowe near Route 108, roughly half a mile north of the Mt Mansfield auto road entrance. The location lacks directional signage. A dirt pullout marks the trailhead just before Route 108 crosses a small bridge. From there, an unmarked path descends approximately a quarter mile to reach the falls. The trail arrives at the river upstream of the falls, where water moves through a narrow winding channel. As you continue, the path becomes steeper and rockier while tracking the river downstream. Access to the jump area requires scrambling down a steep slope, gripping exposed roots and rocks for stability. The river emerges from its confined gorge and drops over a striking waterfall into a spacious round pool below. Jump options span from 5 to 70 feet in height.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
