About this spot
Bingham Falls sits in Stowe near Route 108, roughly half a mile north of the Mt. Mansfield auto road entrance. The location lacks visible signage. Access begins at an unmarked dirt pullout positioned just before Route 108 spans a small stream crossing. From the parking area, an unmarked path descends approximately a quarter mile toward the falls. The trail reaches the river upstream of the falls, where water moves through a narrow winding channel. Beyond this point, the path becomes increasingly challenging and traces the river's downstream course. A steep descent requiring use of roots and rocks for handholds brings you down a significant drop to the river level. The waterfall emerges as the stream exits its confined gorge, dropping into a sizable round basin below. The cliff face varies in elevation from 5 to 70 feet.
