Sterling Falls Gorge (mapped here simply as 'Gorge') is a town-owned park on Sterling Gorge Road in Stowe, VT, centered on a narrow bedrock gorge with six cascades along the West Branch of the Little River. A short loop trail rings the gorge rim with interpretive signage, and a large plunge pool sits at the base of the main falls; locals report wading, climbing, and splashing in the lower pools on hot days. Posted signs at the trailhead discourage swimming, and the steep, mossy gorge walls make the drop to the water far more serious than it looks from the rim -- that's the hazard that matters. Access is free with limited roadside parking. No documented cliff-jumping culture exists here; treat it as a scenic wade-and-splash spot, not a jump spot.
