About this spot
From I-81 South near Lexington, Virginia, take the Lexington exit and proceed west on Route 39 toward Goshen. Continue approximately five miles until the road becomes steep and winding. Watch for Alone Mill Road on your left and follow the gravel surface downhill until crossing a bridge above the Maury River. The cliff formations become visible from the bridge on the left side. Limited parking exists nearby; respect private property boundaries. The primary jump measures roughly 50 to 60 feet, with potential for higher launches, though water depth varies seasonally and should be verified before entry. Before attempting any jump, assess conditions carefully as depth may fluctuate depending on recent rainfall.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
