About this spot

From I-81 South near Lexington, Virginia, take the Lexington exit and proceed west on Route 39 toward Goshen. Continue for approximately five miles on Route 39 as the road becomes increasingly winding and curvy. Watch for Alone Mill Road on your left side. Follow this gravel road until crossing a bridge that spans the Maury River—the cliff formations will be visible on the left from the bridge approach. Limited parking areas exist along the road; respect private property boundaries when choosing a spot. Water depth varies depending on recent rainfall, so always verify conditions before jumping. The main cliff face ranges from 50 to 60 feet in height, with potential to access higher sections if desired.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
