About this spot
Whistle Lake sits inside the Anacortes Community Forest Lands on Fidalgo Island, reached by parking at the Whistle Lake Road trailhead and hiking or biking about 1.3 miles of dirt track to the shore (no fee). Cliffs on the west side and around a small island at the south end range from roughly 10 feet up to nearly 70 feet, drawing steady crowds of families and teens on sunny weekends — go early to beat the rush. It's city-managed forest land with no cliff-jumping ban currently in force, but there's no lifeguard, cell coverage is spotty, and the taller ledges demand real caution around depth and landing zone before committing.
