About this spot

Cascade Lake sits inside Moran State Park on Orcas Island, reached via the Anacortes-Orcas ferry (about 1 hr 20 min) then a short drive to Eastsound and the park entrance; a park day-use fee or Discover Pass applies. The original pin landed roughly a mile east of the lake in forest; it has been corrected to the day-use/swim beach on the lake's south shore. Popular low jumps include a pedestrian bridge over the lake's outlet and a well-known rock-and-tree spot along the west-shore trail, both just a few feet high — family swimming-hole territory rather than serious cliff jumping. Water warms up by midsummer; the lake also supports kayaking, fishing, and a loop trail around the shore.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
