About this spot

Kachess Lake sits off I-90 at the Lake Kachess/Stampede Pass exit, about 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. Exit at the campground, then follow a dirt forest-service road roughly 3 miles to a waterfall area with jumps in the 25-35 foot range, plus smaller options nearer the lake and an island reached from the non-motorized launch. Water is often cloudy, so check landings first. Important: this is a heavily irrigation-drawn reservoir — by late summer the level drops sharply (2026 is running near record lows for the Yakima Basin), the campground boat launch is routinely high-and-dry, and shoreline access changes a lot from spring conditions. Check current lake-level reports before a summer trip.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
