Dougan Falls is a well-documented swimming and cliff-jumping spot on the Washougal River in Skamania County, reached via Washougal River Road with parking near Dougan Creek Campground (a Washington Discover Pass is required, $10/day or $45/year). The river widens above a 19-foot drop into a deep, clear pool; past the bridge, rapids separate that pool from a second swimming area with underwater ledges and a rocky outcrop locals use for jumping. Water stays cold even in summer and depth shifts with seasonal flow, so scouting before jumping matters — falls-area injuries have been reported regionally. Naked Falls, a taller cascade with its own jump pool, sits a short walk upstream. The site is popular on hot weekends, can get crowded and slippery underfoot, and access is public but at your own risk.
