About this spot
Crooked Creek Falls sits just inside the Caney Creek Wildlife Management Area near Caddo Gap, a short, easy quarter-mile walk from plentiful roadside parking on Crooked Creek Road — free, no permit needed. Instead of one big plunge, the creek drops in a multi-tiered cascade over rock ledges into a large pool at the base that Arkansas.com, TripAdvisor, and AllTrails all independently describe as excellent for swimming and a shaded cooldown. Flow and depth track rainfall, running best from late spring through early fall and thinning noticeably in dry stretches. The rock ledges are mossy and slick when wet, the main hazard here, and there's no lifeguard or cell service on site if something goes wrong.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
