About this spot

Murray Falls is a 37 ft waterfall reached by a steep 0.7-mile scramble from the Cherry Bend Trailhead on Highway 23 (Pig Trail Byway), between Cass and Brashears, and named for Ozark Highlands Trail volunteer Dick Murray. The trail reaches the top of the falls; getting to the base means a further steep, muddy downhill scramble not recommended for children. It's a popular hiking and photography destination (122 AllTrails reviews, local TV coverage) but with no documented swimming or jumping culture.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
