About this spot
Rock Pool is a creek-fed swimming hole in Malibu Creek State Park, about a mile in from the Crags Road/Las Virgenes trailheads, ringed by cliffs roughly 20-50 feet high. Cliff jumping is popular on weekends but officially prohibited by California State Parks, which cites frequent injuries from hidden submerged rocks and unclear depth; rangers do ticket jumpers. The supplied coordinates land on a dry meadow near the campground with no water visible on satellite imagery -- the actual pool sits roughly 500m southwest along the creek gorge. A locked exit ladder near Century Dam has also made getting in and out harder in recent years. Treat height and depth claims as unverified until confirmed on the ground.
