About this spot

Camp Nine, at the end of Camp Nine Road below the Collierville/New Melones powerhouse near Vallecito, is a well-known Stanislaus River put-in and swimming hole with a boat ramp, footbridge, and rock ledges along the water. It's primarily documented as a rafting put-in and swim spot rather than a named cliff-jumping destination -- nearby Candy Rock, a separate location, is the area's better-documented jump spot -- so treat cliff jumping at Camp Nine itself as plausible but unverified.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
