About this spot

Bassi Falls sends Bassi Creek about 109 feet over granite near Pollock Pines, with numerous swimming holes carved into the surrounding granite slabs, reached by a roughly 4-mile round-trip hike off Ice House Road. Guides here are notably cautious: several explicitly warn not to cliff jump or scramble on wet granite and to avoid swimming at peak flow, so while jumpable pockets likely exist, documented jump culture is thin and the prevailing safety guidance leans toward swim-only.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
