About this spot

Located near the Lanai Lookout, this spot sits in a secluded area with minimal evidence of prior use. To reach it from Honolulu, travel east on H-1 until the freeway terminates, then continue straight onto Kalanianeole Road through Hawaii Kai and beyond Hanauma Bay. Proceed approximately one more mile past Hanauma Bay until a shooting range appears on the left side of the road. Park in the lot on the right side at Lanai Lookout. From there, walk back toward the shooting range and locate a trail directly across from its entrance leading down to the water. Follow the cliffsside to the right to find the jump location. The site experiences hazardous wave conditions and requires extremely calm water conditions to safely jump. This spot is best attempted only when sea state is very mild.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
