About this spot

Lulumahu Falls is a roughly 100-foot, multi-tiered waterfall reached via a muddy, rooty 2-mile round-trip hike off the Pali Highway on Oahu, flowing year-round since it is spring-fed rather than rain-dependent. A cool plunge pool at the base is popular for swimming after the hike, though several guides caution against swimming or climbing because of loose rock and no supervision; some hikers still scale the sides looking for jump points. A permit from the Honolulu Board of Water Supply is technically required to access the trail, and the path can be very slick, so grippy water shoes are recommended. There are no facilities at the trailhead or falls.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
