About this spot
Auger Falls is a series of cascades where the Snake River drops roughly 20-35 feet through a narrow rhyolite chute inside Auger Falls Heritage Park, a free City of Twin Falls park about 4.5 miles downstream of the Perrine Bridge. Free canyon-rim parking and marked hiking/biking trails lead down to the river; the pool below the main drop is a known local swimming spot, and the Broken Bridge crossing connects to the famous Mermaid Cove jump area nearby. Water is cold year-round and current strengthens fast near the chute and downstream rapids, so stay clear of the main flow when swimming. The park is open and legal for day use; conditions and pool depth shift seasonally with Snake River flow releases.
