About this spot
Dierkes Lake is a spring-fed reservoir inside Twin Falls' Dierkes Lake Park, reached via a short walk from parking off Shoshone Falls Grade Road. The park's official swim beach has a dock, diving board, and (per most accounts) no lifeguards since the pandemic; posted rules there prohibit cliff diving. Even so, jumpers regularly use the basalt ledges ringing the lake, generally 10-35 feet, with a handful of reports of jumps near 80 feet along the rim. Water near the beach is fairly deep and clear but drops off sharply and turns murky farther out, hiding submerged rock; a 12-year-old drowned here in 2026. Treat posted jumping bans as real, scout depth and rocks carefully, and expect enforcement to vary.
