About this spot
Ptarmigan Falls is a 200 ft cascade with a 30+ ft drop on Ptarmigan Creek in Glacier National Park's Many Glacier area, reached via a 5.2 mi round-trip on the Ptarmigan Trail from Swiftcurrent. Guides describe the base pool as a spot to dip your feet or brave a cold plunge, but explicitly caution against swimming near the falls due to undertow. No cliff-jumping culture documented. The corridor is heavy grizzly habitat; bear spray and group hiking are advised.
