About this spot

Zealand Falls is a 25-foot plunge on Whitewall Brook in the White Mountain National Forest, reached via the easy 2.7-mile Zealand Trail from Zealand Road off Route 302 near Twin Mountain. The AMC's Zealand Falls Hut sits right beside the falls, making this a well-documented hiking and hut destination with mountain, pond, and stream scenery along the way. It's popular with day hikers and AT thru-hikers, not established as a swimming or cliff-jumping spot — the brook is cold, rocky, and shallow at elevation. No dedicated jump culture is documented; treat footing on wet rock near the plunge as hazardous.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
