About this spot
Reached via a flat, handicap-accessible quarter-mile path off Old Cherry Mountain Road / Lower Falls Road near US-302 in Twin Mountain. The falls drop about 15 feet in low-angle cascades down a granite ledge into a large, popular swimming pool up to 10 feet deep, with a natural waterslide when flow is high and a small cave tucked behind the falls in certain conditions. Considered one of the safer Ammonoosuc swimming holes compared with Upper Falls upstream, but the current directly beneath the drop is the hazard that matters — stay well clear of it. Swimming here is entirely unofficial: no lifeguards, no facilities, use at your own judgment and check flow before entering.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
