About this spot
A roughly 35-ft waterfall on Kuykendall Creek in Pisgah National Forest (Transylvania County), described as a short free-fall into cascades over small ledges. Reaching it takes a ~4.7-mile approach: a moderate Forest Service road walk (FS 475 to Gloucester Gap, then FS 471/Catheys Creek Road) followed by a steep, unmaintained Class-II bushwhack through dense rhododendron for the final 0.2 miles. No cliff-jumping or swimming-hole culture is documented for this specific falls, and the strenuous approach itself tends to select for hikers and photographers rather than swimmers.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
