About this spot
Double Drop Falls is a two-tiered cascade (roughly 15-30 ft depending on source) on Auger Fork Creek inside Gorges State Park, about 1.5 miles in on the Auger Hole Trail from the Frozen Creek access off US-64 west of Brevard. The trail is used by hikers, mountain bikers, and horses, with stream crossings and rocky, root-covered footing. Multiple hiking guides confirm the falls and route, but none describe it as a swimming or jumping destination - it reads as a scenic trail stop rather than an established swim hole. Water levels and current strength vary with recent rainfall.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
